Thank you for taking the time to consider employment with Athabasca Catering Limited Partnership. Athabasca Catering is an established remote Camp Catering Company that services Northern Saskatchewan Corporate Clients.
Athabasca hires many northern Aboriginal residents. This is supported and mandated by both our clients and owners.
With the cooperation of the mining industry we are proud that we pay wages and benefits that are above average for the hospitality industry.
Most of our employees fly out to remote sites and live at the camps for straight days working 11 hour days. Some sites require a 2 week-in, 2 week-out schedule. Flight transporation is provided to and from work locations. Accommodations and meals are also provided for at the work site.
Most mines operate 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.

KITCHEN POSITIONS |
|
Executive Chefs
- Min 18 - 20 years experience with qualifying documentation
- Extensive management experience
|
|
Working Chefs
- Min 15 years kitchen experience
- Must have 5 years Chef or kitchen management experience
- Responsible for all staffing, ordering and menus
- Must organize and delegate responsibilities in kitchen
|
|
2nd Cooks
- Min 8 - 10 years kitchen experience
- Must be able to prepare entrees, soups, sauces, stocks and starches
- Must have line cooking experience
- Banquet cooking experience an asset
|
|
3rd Cooks
- Min 2 - 3 years experience
- Line cook experience an asset
- Dishwashing and prep cook experience required
|
|
Bakers
- Min 3 years baking experience
- Min 5- 8 years kitchen experience
- Should have some line or banquet cooking experience
- Must be able to prepare bread, buns, squares, cookies, pies and cakes
|
|
Salad Cooks
- Min 5 - 8 years kitchen experience
- Line and banquet cooking an asset
- Prep cook experience required
|

General Helps
- Should have a minimum of 1 - 2 years kitchen experience
- Must have dishwashing or serving experience
- Prep cook experience an asset

Servers / Dish /Pot Washers
- No experience required
- Must be willing to learn and accept instruction
- Must be dependable

Housing Managers
- Must have some computer skills in Microsoft Office Excel and Microsoft Office Word
- Must have some office skills or training

While benefits vary somewhat, we offer a comprehensive benefit package that includes:

The Benefit plan premium is 50% paid by the Company and 50% paid by the employee. The Employee Benefit Plan from First Nations Insurance Services is unique in that the plan recognizes that Status employees are covered by treaty rights and the premium is correspondingly reduced to reflect reduced usage. |
